Biography

Elena is a lawyer in the litigation group at DS Lawyers.

She practices in complex civil and commercial litigation, including cross-border litigation, alternative dispute resolution, professional negligence, estates and trusts litigation.

She is also experienced in plaintiff-side of class actions, including:

  • Angelina Rivers, et al. v. Waterloo Regional Police Services Board, et al.– a class action commenced by female police officers for systemic and institutional gender-based discrimination, sexual harassment and sexual assault.
  • Todd Ross, et al. v. Her Majesty the Queen – a class action against the federal government for harmful campaigns of discrimination against the LGBT community, also known as the LGBT purge.

Elena frequently appears before numerous courts in Ontario, including Ontario Court of Appeal.

Outside of law, Elena enjoys travelling, participating in various athletic activities with her husband and three children, and engaging in art, history and world literature debates.
