Xavier Lacaze is a partner within the Commercial and Competition Law Department. He has a Master’s (DEA) in Corporate Law from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne, was an assistant lecturer at Université de Versailles Saint Quentin en Yvelines, where he taught EU competition law under Professor Gilbert Parléani and civil law under Professor Marie Malaurie-Vignal. He has given seminars on antitrust law for the Master’s (DJCE) programme at the Université de Cergy and has offered training at Ecole Nationale de la Magistrature on assessing the losses caused by anti-competitive practices.
Xavier has been practicing French and European competition law since 1999. He advises on both transactional and litigious matters across many sectors of the economy, including the industrial, construction and public works, energy, transport and network industry sectors. His clients are large groups that he advises on strategic and complex matters.
Xavier has acquired extensive experience in many sectors, including competition investigations, litigation and pre-litigation before the French competition authorities and the European Commission, French and European merger controls, private competition litigation, state subsidies, as well as contracts and disputes related to distribution and consumer law. He provides training in competition law, in particular to clients in the construction and public works sector, as well as the engineering, energy, transport and automotive sectors.
